Lawyer & Legal Product Builder
Portugal

Location: Remote 🌍 but Portugal-based. Some activities require being on the ground in Lisbon or Porto, so you should be able to travel there when needed.

Type: Full-time

Experience: Mid to Senior level

Expertise: Employment Law, Commercial Contracts, Corporate & Compliance, Data Protection, and a genuine appetite for technology

This is a great position for

A law-firm associate who wants to wear jeans and actually see the business their advice touches. We do serious legal work, but we don’t make people suffer through billable-hour theatre or face-time in a suit just because. We offer real autonomy, schedule flexibility, and remote-first work. It’s about protecting and enabling the business, not papering files. It is about impact as well. So far, we’ve helped bring over €120M in direct foreign investment to the local economy.

A lawyer who wants to build, not just advise. We’re not hiring an in-house “department of no.” We’re hiring a lawyer with a tech inclination, someone who delivers legal services to our customers and helps us turn legal expertise into product. If you like ambition and pace, and you’re curious about what happens when legal work meets software, this is for you.

The Mission, should you choose to accept it

BRIDGE IN is a bootstrapped, profitable (€25M+ revenue to date), and remote-first company with the vision of eliminating the burden of bureaucracy by leveraging technology and innovation, empowering organizations worldwide to create opportunities and freeing people to focus on meaningful work.

🚀 You might have seen BRIDGE IN on lists like Top 10 Portuguese Startups, elected the 15th Fastest-Growing Company in Southern Europe, or ranked #5 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. That’s cool, but what it really means is that we’ve created momentum through sheer determination and value creation, no VC monopoly money.

🔥 We’ve moved beyond the initial scramble. We’re profitable, we have traction, and that gives us the rare luxury of building for the future instead of the next funding round. But make no mistake, there is urgency, and the pace of innovation waits for no one. As an Employer-of-Record (EOR) and Company-as-a-Service (CaaS) provider operating across Portugal, Spain, and Italy, and expanding beyond, every contract we sign and every jurisdiction we enter carries real legal weight. And as we scale, more of that legal expertise becomes product: codified, automated, and delivered to customers. We need someone to own both sides of that.

We are looking for an experienced Lawyer who thinks like an owner, not an outside advisor. Your job is twofold: deliver sharp legal services to our customers, and help us build the legal product that lets us serve the next thousand. You won’t be forwarding disclaimers and quoting statutes, you’ll be solving real customer problems and turning the best answers into repeatable, productised playbooks.

Build the future of your profession

Most legal work is still done the way it was decades ago. We don’t think it has to stay that way. We’re deploying edge technologies to reinvent how legal services are delivered faster, more consistently, and more accessibly. If you want to help create the future of your profession rather than watch it happen from the sidelines, you’ll have the mandate and the tools to do it here.

What you will do

  • Employment Contracts & Labour Law: Draft and review employment contracts in Portugal and own the legal substance behind our EOR offering — the contracts, terms, and labour-law decisions that govern how we employ people on behalf of our customers.
  • Commercial Agreements: Prepare and analyse customer and supplier agreements, confidentiality, sales, services, and own the contract lifecycle from draft to signature.
  • Customer Legal Services: Be the legal expert our customers rely on. Provide clear, commercially-minded guidance that supports their operations and keeps them compliant.
  • Legal Product Liaison: Turn recurring legal work into product — playbooks, templates, and automations that let us deliver legal value at scale. We have a Product and Engineering team building, but we need you as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Corporate & Governmental Operations: Execute the legal operations that keep the company and our customers running, including power-of-attorney representation and interfacing with governmental agencies and public bodies.
  • Public-Facing Legal: Draft and maintain terms of use, disclaimers, and privacy policies. You own what the company says to the world, legally.
  • Data Protection: Keep our customers and us GDPR-compliant as a business handling employment and personal data across the EU.

Who you are

  • A qualified Portuguese lawyer: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Law or similar, and membership of the Portuguese Bar (Ordem dos Advogados) is mandatory.
  • Bilingual operator: Professional written and spoken English and Portuguese. Both are non-negotiable. You’ll work across an international team and a Portuguese legal reality every day.
  • Grounded in Portuguese Labour Law: This is the core. You know it, or you’re already deep in it.
  • Commercially fluent: Working knowledge of GDPR. International Trade Law and Corporate Law are nice-to-haves that will make you stand out.
  • A technology optimist: You don’t need to code, but you need to believe legal work can be made better with software, letting automation carry the repetition and let humans focus on higher-level work.
  • Rigorous: You’re deliberate and thorough. In legal work, “roughly right” isn’t a thing. You catch what others miss.
  • Self-managing: You prioritise, manage your own time, and get things done without being chased. Comfortable with the corporate productivity stack (web conferencing, email, docs).
  • A team-first, can-do player: No drama, no politics. You understand technology businesses, or you’re genuinely curious about them.

What we offer

  • Freedom: We’re remote-first. We care about outcomes, not office hours. (Note: some legal activities require on-site presence in Lisbon or Porto, so you should be Portugal-based and available to travel there when needed.)
  • Impact: Your work directly protects and enables the growth of the business and our international customers, from unicorns to publicly traded companies.
  • Stability: We’re a profitable, healthy business. No existential funding anxiety here.
  • Recognition on merit: You’ll be recognised for what you deliver, not internal politics.
  • Real benefits: Competitive salary, variable bonus aligned with business results, and Private Health Insurance.
  • Growth: Career growth and continuous personal development, with a diverse international team and no jerks.

BRIDGE IN is working to support the future of work and decentralised companies, providing a Company-as-a-Service platform to democratise access to opportunities, automate bureaucracy, and facilitate global expansion. BRIDGE IN is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity and inclusion, and above all, merit.

Ready to apply? Great. Our selection process is designed to be as thoughtful and rigorous as the work itself, a data-driven review of your experience followed by a human-to-human conversation to make sure we’re a great fit for each other. We’re excited to see what we can build together.

Legal Associate
Portugal

Job title: Legal Associate (Startup, AI & International Focus)
Location: Remote in Portugal
Type: Professional Internship (+Talento IEFP Program)
Level: Junior (0 to 3 years)

Portugal produces more law graduates than it can absorb. Most of them end up in slow-moving firms doing repetitive work, waiting years for meaningful responsibility. This is not that. At BRIDGE IN, you will be handling real contracts, advising real international clients, and interfacing with government agencies from day one. The legal work here is varied, fast-paced, and directly tied to helping companies from 35+ countries land and operate compliantly in Southern Europe. If you want to actually practice law while building something, read on.

One more thing. Legal work at BRIDGE IN is not done the old way. You will work alongside AI tools that handle the repetitive lifting, which means your time goes toward judgment, client relationships, and real problem-solving. If you want an early look at what the future of legal practice actually looks like in a tech company, this is a rare seat at that table.

Why BRIDGE IN?

We are a bootstrapped, profitable, remote-first company on a mission to make international bureaucracy disappear. We simplify payroll, accounting, legal, and compliance operations for foreign companies expanding into Portugal, Spain, and Italy. Our clients range from high-growth startups to publicly listed companies and unicorns. We are one of the fastest-growing startups in Southern Europe, and we are still accelerating.

This role exists because our legal workload is real and growing, and we want someone who will grow with it.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Reviewing, drafting, and analyzing client and supplier agreements, including NDAs, sales contracts, and vendor agreements, with guidance and increasing ownership over time

  • Supporting clients directly on legal compliance queries related to their Portuguese operations, acting as a reliable and informed point of contact

  • Assisting the operations team in ensuring legal compliance across subsidiary management and employment matters under Portuguese Labour Law

  • Drafting and maintaining public-facing documents including terms of use, privacy policies, and GDPR-related disclaimers

  • Executing legal operations that require representation, including power-of-attorney mandates and direct interface with governmental agencies

  • Keeping up with regulatory changes in Portugal and flagging anything that affects how our clients or we operate

Who You Are

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law

  • Based in Portugal, under 35 years of age, and eligible for +Talento IEFP program

  • You are enrolled in or already admitted to the Ordem dos Advogados (this is a strong plus)

  • You are fluent in Portuguese and English, written and spoken, with the precision that legal work demands

  • You have working knowledge of Portuguese Labour Law, Company Law, and GDPR fundamentals

  • You do not need someone to follow up with you twice. You manage your own workload, flag blockers early, and close the loop

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can make reasonable judgment calls without a ten-step approval process

  • You see AI and legal tech as tools that make your work sharper and faster, not as threats

What We Offer

  • We are not hiring for a temporary slot. This internship is structured to convert into a full-time contract for the right person, and that is the plan from day one.

  • Compensation structured around the +Talento IEFP grant, adjusted upward based on experience and profile

  • Variable bonus aligned with business results

  • Fully remote setup with flexibility on hours, built around outcomes not attendance

  • Direct exposure to international corporate law, compliance, and startup operations from your first week

  • A merit-based environment where your track record speaks louder than your title or tenure

  • Colleagues who will challenge you, and a client base that will stretch your thinking

What Happens Next

We don't do corporate black holes. This is a real, open role, and not a ghost job to harvest resumes. Here is the general roadmap: start with a quick application form. If we're aligned, we'll send over a self-evaluation survey, followed by human-to-human interviews and a hands-on challenge so you can show, not just tell, what you can do. We're a startup, so the exact steps might iterate, but we guarantee three things: we (try to) move fast, we are radically transparent, and we will never waste your time.

Payroll & HR Operations Intern
Portugal

Job Title: Payroll & HR Operations Intern
Location: Remote, Portugal
Type: Full-Time (IEFP Internship to Work Contract)
Level: Entry Level / Recent Graduate

Payroll sounds operational. At BRIDGE IN, it is strategic. We process payroll for some of the most ambitious companies in the world, from unicorns to publicly listed US firms. We are now looking for someone early in their career who wants to do more than execute tasks. We want someone who will help us standardize, optimize, and build the payroll practice that scales with us into Spain, Italy, and beyond.

Why BRIDGE IN?

We are a bootstrapped, profitable, remote-first company ranked among the 15 fastest-growing startups in Southern Europe. We help international organizations cut through the bureaucracy of expanding into new markets, specifically Portugal, Spain, and Italy. We do this through a platform we are actively building, combining compliance expertise with automation and AI.

This role sits at the core of that mission. Every payroll run you own is a promise kept to a customer who trusted us to handle what they could not do alone. You will get real ownership early, work directly alongside our Payroll Manager, and grow into a full-time contract as you prove your impact.

What You'll Be Building

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of international clients, covering new hires, exits, and contractual changes with precision and consistency

  • Help standardize payroll workflows and contribute to the adoption of unified processes that hold up as we scale into new markets

  • Use and help shape the internal tools we are building, including automation features and AI-assisted workflows, to run payroll faster and with fewer errors

  • Respond to employee and client payroll queries with clarity and speed, becoming the person people trust to get it right

  • Support compliance with Portuguese labor law, tax obligations, and social security requirements, and flag what does not look right

  • Contribute to reconciliation reports and internal audit processes, building the habits of accuracy that this work demands

Who You Are

  • Based in Portugal, under 35, with a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

  • You communicate clearly in both English and Portuguese, in writing and in conversation

  • You are the kind of person who double-checks their own work before anyone else has to

  • You are comfortable with spreadsheets and pick up new software fast, which matters here because we are actively building our own

  • You manage your own time and priorities without needing someone to structure your day

  • You are genuinely curious about how payroll, compliance, and labor law actually work, not just how to fill in the fields

  • International exposure, whether through study, travel, or work, is a plus, but not a dealbreaker

What We Offer

  • A structured internship with a clear path to a full-time work contract based on your performance

  • Remote-first and flexible schedule, we care about outcomes, not hours logged

  • Variable bonus aligned with business results

  • Direct access to a world-class team and a customer base that includes unicorns and publicly traded companies

  • Recognition based on merit, no politics, no waiting in line

  • Career growth that moves as fast as you do
